Adoption Update

Good Monday morning ladies and gents!

Today was supposed to be a big meeting day between us and our LSS social worker. We were going to find out a more exact time frame for our adoption and all sorts of little ins and outs of the process. But unfortunately our social worker had to reschedule. Now we will be having the meeting next Monday.

I’m not going to lie, I am a little disappointed about not having the meeting today. But we are going to go to the bank after work instead and get an account set up for our adoption. We’ve budgeted and we are each going to deposit a portion of our paychecks to this account monthly. Adoptions are expensive, so we want to be smart about it!

Being the sentimental sap that I am I have started keeping a journal about our adoption process. I hope one day to share it with my child.

I will close this post with a little piece of my journal. It is a letter I wrote to my future child…

I dream about you daily
I have all the hopes in the world for you.
We haven’t met yet,
nor do I know your name, age, gender, or race.
But it doesn’t matter.
I consider you mine.
I pray for you…
That your transition will be easy,
That you will be comfortable,
That you’ll be able to feel how much you are loved by us.
You are my angel,
My child,
My everything.

So sorry your meeting has been delayed. It is frustrating!!! Our social worker was supposed to get with us last week and she had to cancel due to a family emergency. We are just waiting now.

Love the journal entry. So sweet!

Great post Rach! Sorry you didn't get to have your meeting. But that is great that you were able to set up an account for your adoption. Keep us all updated!
