Sooooo excited!!!

We finished our adoption training classes...YAY!!!

The finial night was a panel format where they had adoptive parents, kids, and birth mothers speak. We were allowed to bring guests so we took my parents along for the ride. It was very informative. My parents walked away excited for us and with full trust in our agency.

After we complete the training classes we were told we would get a call from our social worker in 1-2 weeks so we could set up our home study.

Guess what?!?!

Our social worker contacted us the following day and said, "lets get you two in the books asap, let me know when we can do the home study." So our study is scheduled for next Wednesday.

One. week. from. today.

Hooray!!!!

Needless to say we will be super busy preparing our home. It is such an exciting time. My hubster is so cute, he keeps saying "this is all I can think about". And he is normally so even keel.

Say a little prayer that the home study goes well for us. (Adoptive mom's feel free to share advice!)

Have a fabulous day everyone!

Congratulations! I'm sure the home visit will so great. One thing we tell our clients. Make sure you have more food than booze in the fridge! Haha! :) No, really you have nothing to worry about. Just be yourself. So happy for y'all!

I am so excited for you!! I have no advice as our homestudy was truly awful!! We had what I"ll call a "not nice" social worker.
Actually, I guess my advice would be know your rights as a client. You can transfer social workers, and it's there job to judge whether you're a good environment for a child not how you plan to raise them. ie. I plan to go back and do a masters one day and she thought that was ridiculous. Things like deciding if both parents should have jobs are not their job!!

That's the only advice I have. ; )

Good luck, and I'm sure it will be fantastic!!!

Love, Jessa xx

Congrats! That's so terrific things are moving smoothly. We had several home studies and with each one I became much more calm.

The first one I cleaned like no one has every cleaned before, I stressed about what to wear, had drinks and snacks ready. The social worker just laughed and told me to chill!

In fact, all of the social workers said they were just checking to make sure we had space for a baby, weren't living in an abandoned warehouse and didn't appear to be crack heads. No one was showing up with the white glove to test for dust.

So my advice is don't go crazy with the cleaning and make sure to keep breathing. The closer you are to your normal self the better it will all go!

Yea!! That's amazing news! I'm so excited that things are moving along quickly. I stressed about our homestudy and cleaned every spot in our house. I'm normally a neat freak anyway, but I was out of control. When our sw got here, he barely looked at all the things I was so worried about. Just be yourself and you will do great!
