I am becoming a mother through the wonderful process of adoption!
As you can probably tell by my comments the adoption seminar went extremely well. I am starting to feel like this is so much more official.
We had 5 couples besides ourselves going through the training. Two of the agency social workers lead the seminar, the social worker dealing with our case was one of them. We received a wealth of information and next week we are required to give a book report….the academic in me just loves it! To top it off I feel really supported and cared for by the agency.
I told my hubster after the day was over that something had changed in me. I’m sure he thought I was completely nuts but it is true! I feel like I am on my way to becoming a mother. I as though internally my priorities have shifted over to “mother mode”.
I can’t wait until next week Monday when we go back for more! We have 1 training seminar down and 3 to go…then we schedule our home study!
I can hardly believe it. I feel so blessed by this opportunity. No matter how long our wait, this is going to be worth every second.
